MITRE encourages employees to take an active interest in civic and community affairs by volunteering. Additionally, the company coordinates charitable campaigns and donation drives throughout the year to help our employees meet their philanthropic goals.

  • MITRE employees make an effort to volunteer their time in support of our sponsors, particularly those in the armed services. MITRE's Suits for Vets program, for example, provides suits, shirts, ties, and accessories for wounded former soldiers who have left active military service and are starting new careers. In 2009, the Massachusetts Employer Support to the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) presented MITRE with its "Above and Beyond" award for its many initiatives for the support of veterans in and out of its workplace.
  • Throughout the year, MITRE's two principal locations and sites host a variety of efforts to provide for those less fortunate, including the Salvation Army Angel Trees that offer employees the opportunity to provide holiday gifts to needy families and other donation drives.
  • Each year, MITRE donates its used and excess computers and other equipment to educational institutions and charities.
