Command and Control Center (C2C)

Overview

The new Command and Control Center (C2C) will serve MITRE's full range of Department of Defense sponsors and place special emphasis on creating a joint command, control, and communications system. The center will work closely with MITRE's Center for Integrated Intelligence Systems, Center for Enterprise Management, and Center for Advanced Aviation System Development.

Our staff is centered at two main offices, in Bedford, Massachusetts, and McLean, Virginia. Additional staff members can be found working throughout the world at several dozen sites; many are co-located with our sponsors at or near military installations or other government facilities.

Challenges

A few of the challenges that the C2C is helping sponsors address include:

  • Enabling network-centric operations
  • Applying the practice of enterprise systems engineering to the integration of legacy and new technology
  • Building effective joint and multi-national command and control
  • Achieving service modernization and transformation
  • Achieving system integration and interoperability
  • Developing a multi-sensor command and control constellation
  • Ensuring systems interoperability among services
  • Architecting real-time data/information management and processing systems
  • Providing the DoD with innovative, effective, and cost-efficient technology
  • Providing expertise in agile acquisition and logistics transformation
  • Providing planning, management, execution, and sustainment of Air and Space Operations
