Projects
The Advanced Technical Computing Center (ATCC) supported the DARPA Translingual Information Detection, Extraction and Summarization (TIDES) effort not only by provisioning and managing the computer servers on which the software runs, but also by developing scripts to support the various data feeds used by the project.
Storage Area Networks (SAN)
We have developed a storage area network made up of several different brands and classes of storage, allowing us to provide large blocks of storage as users need them and ensuring sufficient storage environment for the many projects using ATCC services.
Distributed Resource Sharing
We are running Platform Computing's Load Sharing Facility (LSF) that batches compute-intensive applications for processing on our compute servers and, during off-hours, on users' workstations. We are also experimenting with a cluster of virtual machines carved out of an IBM Intel 8-way Xeon running VMware ESX Server and using the free version of Sun Grid Engine (SGE).
Internal SourceForge (iSF)
We have contributed to the development and customization of the internal MITRE service iSF based on the Open Source products SourceForge and GForge. In addition, we are providing infrastructure and general maintenance for the service as it matures into a stable platform for project management within MITRE.
