Student and Graduate Opportunities: Making a Difference—Really!
Want to use your technical skills to strengthen the nation's security? Improve the nation's air traffic system? Help government serve the American people better? Or engineer advanced communications for our military and intelligence community? If you're a student with a strong technical background, whether just starting your studies or about to graduate, MITRE might have just the opportunity for you.
Who We Are
We're a not-for-profit company chartered to work in the public interest. We take on the nation's most difficult and critical challenges—in defense, aviation, enterprise modernization, and national security. To do this, MITRE manages four Federally Funded Research and Development Centers: One for the Department of Defense; one for the Federal Aviation Administration; one for the Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; and one for the Department of Homeland Security.
Great Facilities and Range of Work
MITRE has major locations in the Washington, D.C. and greater Boston areas, with an additional 60 sites around the world. Our more than 50 laboratories and prototyping facilities are among the best in the world. Core areas of expertise include cybersecurity, emerging technologies, enterprise systems engineering, health transformation, global networking, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

MITRE provides a flexible and competitive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings and investment program, and paid time off for full-time regular hires. We also offer training opportunities to enhance your technical skills, such as our graduate school tuition reimbursement program. For these reasons and more, MITRE has been recognized repeatedly on a national level:
- Listed in Fortune's "100 Best Companies to Work
