Who Succeeds in MITRE's Internship Program?

Who Succeeds in MITRE's Internship Program?

Co-ops and interns are encouraged to participate in company-wide extracurricular and learning programs.

MITRE hires undergraduate and graduate students for co-op jobs, summer internships, and full-time jobs. We seek students with research and analytical skills, plus the ability to work with a range of technologies. If you have a BS/MS in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, software engineering, math, or similar degree program, MITRE just might be the place for you.

Experience with the following is especially desired: Java, C#, C++, Matlab, HTML, Visual Basic; understanding of enterprise frameworks (J2EE, .NET); familiarity with Windows, Linux, Mac, and UNIX operating systems; security; information assurance; cryptography; electronics (VHDL, Verilog, ASICs, FPGAs, embedded hardware and software, circuit design, antenna design), digital signal processing; GPS; software-defined radios; communication (wired and wireless); and network protocols.

Salary

Co-ops, interns and college graduates are paid a competitive salary commensurate with their education level and technical skills.

Benefits

MITRE provides a flexible and competitive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings and investment program, and paid time off for full-time regular hires. We also offer training opportunities to enhance your technical skills, such as our graduate school tuition reimbursement program. For these reasons and more, MITRE has been recognized repeatedly on a national level.

Some benefits of our Co-op/Intern Program include:

  • MITRE observes federal holidays.
  • Co-ops/Interns who move more than 50 miles to the internship location may be eligible for travel assistance.
  • MITRE provides resources for students to find housing accommodations.
  • Participation in company-wide extracurricular and learning programs is encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Because so much of our work is for the U.S. government, MITRE seeks students able to attain security clearances. In most cases, new employees must be U.S. citizens.
  • Must have a competitive GPA; preference is for a minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Co-ops/Interns must be currently enrolled in a full-time high school or degree-producing college or university program.
  • Must provide transcripts covering academic qualifications described above.
