Aviation Week has ranked MITRE among the top 43 companies for aerospace and defense (A&D) professionals in its 2009 Workforce Study. MITRE received honors in all three categories—Technological Challenge (ranked second), Valuing the Individual/Diversity (ranked sixth), and Learning/Career Opportunity (ranked second)—a first since the study began in 2004. This marks the fifth consecutive year the company has been included on the weekly magazine's annual "Best Places to Work in IT" list. MITRE ranked 37 out of 100 companies recognized for their outstanding environments for technology staffers and ranked third overall for employee training opportunities. The MITRE Corporation is pleased to announce that it has been selected for FORTUNE's 2009 list of "100 Best Companies to Work For"ૼmarking the company's eighth consecutive year on the annual list. The not-for-profit organization ranked 66 on the list, was named number four out of the top 10 businesses for encouraging employee work/life balance (up from number six), and earned sixth place for its low turnover rate of 4%.
