MITRE Takes Home Silver "Health at Work" Award
CHICAGO, Ill., August 20, 2012—ComPsych® Corporation, the world's largest provider of employee assistance programs (EAP), has announced The MITRE Corporation as a Silver winner of its Health at Work Award. Now in its eighth year, the award honors organizations that promote employee health and wellness. Recipients were selected based on the comprehensiveness of their wellness program, promotion, delivery, participation rates, and results. ComPsych cited MITRE's Embrace Your Health (EYH) initiative, which features monthly health education and EAP seminars, a health services clinic onsite at two locations, fitness centers at the main campuses, and ergonomic evaluations.
"We're honored to receive this recognition," said Susan Skelly, Health and Wellness program manager at MITRE. "It's gratifying to know that our work to bring programs and resources to our employees is helping them to achieve their health and fitness goals." Skelly added that 25% to 30% of employees have participated in EYH programs since the company launched the initiative more than 10 years ago. This is MITRE's second Health at Work award; the company was also recognized in 2008.

IDG's Computerworld Names MITRE a "Best Place to Work in IT" for Seventh Straight Year
IDG's Computerworld has selected The MITRE Corporation as one of the country's "100 Best Places to Work in IT" for the seventh year in a row. The company ranked 54 overall and 14 in the category of medium-size companies on the 2011 list of the top work environments for technology professionals. MITRE was also named the number three company overall for training.
MITRE Named Top 25 Company for Work-Life Balance
MITRE has been selected as one of the top 25 companies for work-life balance on a list compiled by the career site Glassdoor.com. The list, Glassdoor.com's first ranking of companies that excel in providing work-life balance, was compiled based on employee feedback shared between April 2010 and March 2011. Among other workplace attributes, employees were asked to rate management's support in permitting time off when they thought it necessary and employer support in balancing between work life and personal life.
MITRE Honored by Alliance for Workplace Excellence
The Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) announced May 2 that MITRE was named to its 2011 Excellent Workplaces and Health and Wellness Trailblazers lists. The AWE has recognized the Washington, D.C. areas best places to work for the past 12 years. MITRE was among 57 U.S. companies named as Excellent Workplaces and 38 U.S. companies named as Health and Wellness Trailblazers. The winning companies represent more than 1 million employees from organizations of all sizes and in all sectors—private, public and non-profit. Winning companies undergo an assessment process led by an independent review panel of professionals in business, industrial and organizational psychology and human resources.
MITRE Receives American Psychological Association's Healthy Workplace Award
The American Psychological Association (APA) has recognized The MITRE Corporation with its 2011 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award. One of eight North American employers to receive the award this year, MITRE won in the APA's Large Not-for-Profit category.

FORTUNE magazine has named The MITRE Corporation to its 2011 list of "100 Best Companies to Work For." This is the 10th consecutive year MITRE has been recognized as one of the country's top employers, joining a small group of companies with this distinction.
MITRE Selected as One of Glassdoor.com's 50 Best Places to Work
For the second year in a row, The MITRE Corporation has been named to Glassdoor.com's Employee Choice List of the 50 Best Places to Work. MITRE ranked number 12 on the career and workplace site's list of the top U.S. companies. The Employees' Choice Awards rely solely on the input of employees, who provide feedback on their work environment and senior management throughout the year via an anonymous 20-question survey. The survey addresses eight key workplace factors that include work/life balance, career opportunities, communication, compensation and benefits, fairness and respect, employee morale, recognition and feedback, and senior leadership. The ranking of the top 50 list was determined by each company's overall Glassdoor rating, which is the cumulative average rating from the survey.

The MITRE Corporation has been named one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts in the Boston Globe's third annual employee survey of local employers. This year MITRE was ranked second on the overall list of the best large companies (those with 1,000 or more employees). MITRE also ranked second for dedication to ethics, third in a related listing of the best companies in Massachusetts for diversity, and fourth for employee confidence in their future career prospects, according to the Globe.
IDG's Computerworld Names MITRE a "Best Place to Work in Information Technology" for Sixth Year in a Row
IDG's Computerworld has selected The MITRE Corporation as one of the country's outstanding workplaces for IT professionals. This is the company's sixth straight year on the magazine's list of "100 Best Places to Work in IT." MITRE ranked number 26 overall and number 8 in the category of medium-size companies.
Alliance for Workplace Excellence Recognizes MITRE
The Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) has named The MITRE Corporation a 2010 winner of the Workplace Excellence Award and the Health & Wellness Trailblazer Award. This is the eighth year in a row MITRE has received the Workplace Excellence Award and the fifth consecutive year it has won the Trailblazer Award.
