New Methods for Information Technology Training Marcie Zaharee, Principal Investigator Problems: CI&T's FastForward training team charter is to provide training to MITRE staff on MITRE's IT desktop tools. Our challenge is multifaceted -- staff are geographically dispersed, time zones vary, and available learning time is limited. As a result staff miss valuable training opportunities.
Objectives: Our solution is to apply a blended learning approach to training.
Activities: The intent is to combine the best of both worlds. When new instructor-led training classes have been piloted in Bedford and McLean, we expand our training to sites by providing webinars, and we convert our training to CBT and video for staff reuse anytime, anywhere.
Impact: By offering a variety of synchronous and asynchronous options we are able to satisfy on-demand training needs.

Wiki Integrated Quality Index (WIQI) Will Williamson, Principal Investigator Problems: Intellipedia shares the greatest strength of wikis -- anyone can edit the content -- as well as the greatest weakness -- whether the material can be trusted in the absence of editorial control. In a culture accustomed to relying on "finished" (i.e., vetted by an authority), the question continually arises as to how much, if any, credibility to give analysis developed in Intellipedia.
Objectives: At present, no "power tools" exist for users to quickly assess the information quality of an Intellipedia article. We propose to integrate a number of complementary quality metrics into a quality assessment dashboard. This will provide the reader of an Intellipedia article with both instant-snapshot and drill-down capabilities to explore various aspects relating to quality.
Activities: We will explore algorithms for recommender systems for authors and articles and incorporate verified author credentials. Rating criteria will be consistent with Intelligence Community best practices for evaluation of intelligence products. We will integrate our metrics with the edit history approach of the SezHoo MSR and display the merged and weighted results in an easy-to-visualize dashboard.
Impact: Timeliness of intelligence need no longer be compromised while awaiting "finished" products, since readers will be able to see at a glance how well a given Intellipedia article conforms to quality standards. They can then make an informed decision about how much credence to give to the presented analysis.
