McLean, Virginia, February 12, 2001 — The MITRE Corporation's President and Chief Executive Officer Martin Faga today announced a series of executive changes approved at a meeting of MITRE's Board of Trustees last week.

Dr. Raymond Shulstad, formerly the leader of MITRE's Colorado Springs site, was elected as an officer and appointed as a corporate vice president. He will serve as deputy general manager in MITRE's Center for Air Force Command and Control Systems in Bedford, MA. In May, he will become senior vice president and general manager of that center, succeeding Dr. Harold Sorenson, who has previously announced his retirement.

Dr. Lisa Bender, current executive director of Human Resources, has been elected as an officer of the corporation, and appointed a vice president.

Effective April 1, John Quilty, senior vice president and general manager of MITRE's Washington Center for Command, Control, and Communications (C3), will become director of MITRE's DOD Federally Funded Research and Development Center, a position currently filled by Faga, who will continue his involvement in DOD matters.

Al Grasso, currently MITRE's chief information officer, will succeed Quilty as senior vice president and general manager of the Washington C3 Center.

MITRE (www.mitre.org) is a not-for-profit national technology resource that provides systems engineering, research and development, and information technology support to the government. It operates federally funded research and development centers for the DOD, the FAA and the IRS, with principal locations in Bedford, MA, and Northern Virginia.
