Bedford, Massachusetts, June 12, 2001 — The MITRE Corporation's President and Chief Executive Officer Martin Faga today announced two promotions approved at a meeting of MITRE's Board of Trustees last week.

David Lehman was promoted to Senior Vice President for Information and Technology. He will be responsible for the formulation and management of the corporation's technology program and for the corporate information infrastructure.

Lehman served as MITRE's vice president and chief technology officer from February 1997 to May 2001, when his position was expanded to include the chief information officer function. Formerly, he was technical director of MITRE's Intelligence and Special Projects Division. He has 23 years of experience in the intelligence community, particularly the U.S. Imagery System, and information management systems.

Robert Mikelskas has been elected Vice President of MITRE's Center for Integrated Intelligence Systems, where he will assist with that Center's leadership and strategic direction.

Mikelskas was formerly director of MITRE's National Intelligence Division, a position he held since 1993. He has managed a wide variety of technical and systems engineering programs for the intelligence community, Department of Defense and Federal Bureau of Investigations.

MITRE (www.mitre.org) is a not-for-profit national technology resource that provides systems engineering, research and development, and information technology support to the government. It operates federally funded research and development centers for the DOD, the FAA and the IRS, with principal locations in Bedford, MA, and Northern Virginia.
