Jane Garvey Elected to MITRE Board of Trustees FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MITRE Contacts: Karina H. Wright Eryn L. Gallagher McLean, Va., June 14, 2004 — MITRE Chairman of the Board James Schlesinger and President and Chief Executive Officer Martin Faga are pleased to announce the recent election of Ms. Jane Garvey to the MITRE Board of Trustees. From 1997 to 2002, Ms. Garvey was the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), leading the nation's aviation system into the 21st century. Earlier in her career, she was Acting Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration, Director of Boston's Logan International Airport, and Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Public Works. Currently, Ms. Garvey is Executive Vice President of APCO Worldwide, a transportation consultancy. "Ms. Garvey's rich expertise in aviation and transportation matters, combined with her long history of working in the public interest, makes her a valuable addition. I am delighted to have her on our Board," said Schlesinger. Ms. Garvey holds a Bachelor's degree from Mount Saint Mary College and a Master's degree from Mount Holyoke College. She was recently named one of the "Top Public Officials of the 20th Century" by the American Road and Transportation Builders Association.
