MITRE Places 10th on "100 Best Places to Work in IT" List FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MITRE Contacts: Karina H. Wright Eryn L. Gallagher Bedford, Massachusetts, July 5, 2005 — The MITRE Corporation is pleased to announce that it has been named to Computerworld's "100 Best Places to Work in IT" list. MITRE was ranked 10th on the list. Selection to the list, which is now in its 12th year, is based on a survey of each organization's employment statistics and financial data, benefits policies and programs, as well as feedback from employees. MITRE received particularly high marks for its retirement program, which allows employees to contribute up to the maximum amount allowed by law with the company contributing up to approximately 11 percent of salary. MITRE's work/life balance programs such as flextime, telecommuting, part-time employment, and job sharing also figured high in the selection process. More than 20,000 IT professional from the final 100 companies selected responded to the survey. To qualify, participating companies, both public and private, had to have 2004 revenue of $250 million or greater and they had to employ a minimum of 500 people in the U.S. and have at least 100 IT employees in the U.S. Says David Lehman, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology and Information Officer at MITRE, "Selection to the list confirmed what we already knew—that the hard work of our employees, both individually and as part of our team, has helped make MITRE a great place to work for IT professionals."
