McLean, Virginia, October 25, 2005 — The MITRE Corporation has been selected as a "Great Place to Work" in 2005 by Washingtonian, a monthly lifestyle magazine serving the metropolitan Washington D.C. region. MITRE was chosen for this annual list from a field of over 225 candidates, and honored for its superior employee benefits, challenging work program, and dedication to employee development.

"We are proud that Washingtonian magazine, a prestigious publication devoted to helping readers live a balanced life, has recognized MITRE's world-class work environment," said William Albright, Director, Quality of Work Life and Benefits at MITRE. "This honor confirms what our employees in MITRE's Virginia, D.C., and Maryland communities, and our additional staff throughout the world already know: the corporation is committed to upholding a stable, balanced, and flexible workplace."

MITRE is among 55 companies in the metro D.C. region selected as a "Great Place to Work." The corporation is credited for its competitive pay and benefits, such as tuition reimbursement, and its atmosphere of mutual respect among peers.

Additional MITRE staff are located throughout the region, at the Pentagon and Bolling AFB in Washington, D.C., Langley AFB and ten other locations in Virginia, and four sites in Maryland.
