MITRE Named to the "Best Places to Work in IT" List for Second Year in a Row FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MITRE Contacts: Karina H. Wright Eryn L. Gallagher Bedford, Massachusetts, June 20, 2006 — International Data Group's Computerworld has named The MITRE Corporation to its "Best Places to Work in IT" list for the second year in a row. MITRE ranked eighth on the list of 100 companies. Selection is based on a comprehensive survey of each organization's benefits, diversity, career development, training, and retention, as well as feedback from employees. Computerworld gave MITRE particularly high marks for its flextime, teleworking, part-time employment, and job sharing programs, as well as its summer-hours program that allows employees who have completed their work and work-hours to leave early on Fridays. MITRE's generous retirement plan also contributed to its high ranking. MITRE contributes up to approximately 11 percent of employees' salaries to their retirement accounts. A total of 20,435 IT professionals from the final 100 companies selected responded to the survey. To qualify, participating companies, both public and private, had to have a 2005 revenue of $250 million or greater and employ a minimum of 500 people in the U.S. with at least 100 of those in IT. "Being named to the 'Best Places to Work in IT' list for a second year confirms that MITRE is succeeding in its efforts to provide a world-class work environment that values its IT professionals," said Joel Jacobs, Acting Chief Information Officer at MITRE.
