MITRE Appoints David Lehman General Manager of Command and Control Center FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MITRE Contacts: Karina H. Wright Eryn L. Gallagher McLean, Virginia, April 13, 2006 — The MITRE Corporation has appointed David H. Lehman to the position of general manager of its newly created Command and Control Center. This new center combines MITRE's former command and control centers in Bedford, Mass., and McLean, Va., into a single, integrated unit under Mr. Lehman's management. Said Martin C. Faga, president and chief executive officer, "We believe that merging these centers will increase the relevance and impact to both the Services and the Joint community, and we are pleased to have Dave leading the combined center. His proven leadership skills and the breadth and depth of his experience will help us serve our customers more effectively." The new Command and Control Center will serve MITRE's full range of Department of Defense sponsors and place special emphasis on creating a joint command, control, and communications system. The center will work closely with MITRE's Center for Integrated Intelligence Systems, Center for Enterprise Modernization, and Center for Advanced Aviation System Development. Mr. Lehman leaves his position as MITRE's senior vice president for information and technology, which he has held since 2001, to take on this new challenge. In his previous position, Mr. Lehman was responsible for formulating MITRE's technology strategy and managing the corporate information infrastructure. Mr. Lehman first joined MITRE in 1974 as a programmer on intelligence applications and has held a number of positions in the company in his over 30 years of intelligence community and information management systems work. He served as MITRE's vice president and chief technology officer from 1997 to 2001 after working as technical director of MITRE's Intelligence and Special Projects Division, where he provided expertise in systems engineering, systems acquisition, and enabling technologies to a wide variety of MITRE's customers. Earlier, he was department head of MITRE's Imagery Systems Department. Mr. Lehman received a bachelor's degree in geology from Williams College in 1974. It operates federally funded research and development centers for the Department of Defense, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Internal Revenue Service, with principal locations in Bedford, Mass., and McLean, Va.
