MITRE Named to the "Best Places to Work in IT" List FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MITRE Contacts: Karina H. Wright Eryn L. Gallagher Bedford, Massachusetts, June 18, 2007 — International Data Group's Computerworld has named The MITRE Corporation to its "Best Places to Work in IT" list for the third year in a row, ranking MITRE fifth on the list of 100 companies. In addition, MITRE ranked third on Computerworld's list of the 10 Best Places for Training. Selection is based on a comprehensive survey of each organization's benefits, diversity, career development, training, and retention, as well as feedback from employees. Computerworld commended MITRE for its work/life balance programs—which include flextime, teleworking, part-time employment, and job sharing—and its summer hours program that encourages managers not to schedule business meetings on Friday afternoons. Computerworld also gave MITRE high marks for welcoming employee feedback and soliciting it through an employee forum, employee surveys, the Gallup Q-12 Survey, and executive lunches. "Inclusion in the 'Best Places to Work in IT' list is a testament to the company's superb IT team and the environment we have created—everything we do is done with the customer, both internal and external, in mind," said Joel Jacobs, acting chief information officer at MITRE. "This recognition is a source of great pride for all concerned and only a starting point for even better performance in the future."
