MITRE Recognized for Exemplary Employee Health Care by Boston Business Journal

Bedford, Massachusetts, October 24, 2007 — The Boston Business Journal has named The MITRE Corporation a "Champion in Health Care" for providing high-quality wellness programs for its more than 1,900 employees in Bedford.

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, one of MITRE's health insurers for its Bedford-based employees, nominated the company for the prestigious award. MITRE was one of two area employers to receive the honor. Selection is based on the scope of a company's efforts to promote the health and well-being of its employees. Through its "Embrace Your Health" (EYH) corporate initiative, MITRE encourages employees to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Most programs and services are on-site—making it easy for people to participate. EYH provides cholesterol, blood pressure, bone density, and sun damage screenings, among others. Some MITRE locations offer prenatal programs, ergonomic evaluations, and chiropractic care.

Albright accepted the honor at the Business Journal's awards ceremony at the Sheraton Boston Hotel.
