BEDFORD, Mass., and MCLEAN, Va., June 25, 2009 — The MITRE Corporation is pleased to announce that IDG's Computerworld has selected it as one of the country's top workplaces for IT professionals. This marks the fifth consecutive year the company has been included on the weekly magazine's annual "Best Places to Work in IT" list.

MITRE ranked 37 out of 100 companies recognized for their outstanding environments for technology staffers and ranked third overall for employee training opportunities. A not-for-profit organization, MITRE was specifically cited for its retirement plan, which includes a phased retirement option. Employees also praised the company's flexible work arrangement program.

"We're pleased to be on the Best Places list once again and to see our training rated so highly," said Dr. Robert Mikelskas, vice president and chief information officer at MITRE. "Providing employees with the latest training and tools not only adds to a great atmosphere, it better equips us to help our government sponsors carry out their missions."

Rankings are based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding corporate offerings in various categories, including benefits, diversity, career development, training, and retention. Computerworld also conducted extensive surveys of more than 27,000 IT workers, whose responses factored heavily in determining the final rankings.

"The Computerworld survey feedback helps us understand where we excel and where we can improve," said Mr. Joel Jacobs, MITRE's deputy CIO. "That's invaluable when it comes to supporting our IT staff members—they support every aspect of our work."

Now in its 16th year, the 2009 Best Places list is featured in the June 15 edition of Computerworld and online at http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9134101/Best_Places_to_Work_2009.
