INCOSE and MITRE Sign Agreement on Systems Engineering Certification FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MITRE Contacts: Karina H. Wright Eryn L. Gallagher BEDFORD, Mass., August 4, 2010 — The MITRE Corporation and the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), based in San Diego, Calif., have signed an agreement that will allow MITRE to leverage INCOSE's professional certification program. The new agreement was ratified in July at the 20th Annual INCOSE International Symposium held in Chicago. Through its terms, MITRE and INCOSE will collaborate in granting the INCOSE certification to appropriately qualified MITRE systems engineers. "We're delighted about this collaboration with INCOSE," said Alfred Grasso, MITRE president and chief executive officer. "This agreement provides an opportunity for our systems engineering professionals to be recognized for their applied competency." Commenting on the agreement, Louis Metzger, MITRE senior vice president and corporate chief engineer, said, "This joint effort allows our engineering staff to obtain formal validation of their systems engineering accomplishments and capabilities, which are critical to solving complex national problems." "INCOSE is pleased to enter this agreement with MITRE to advance the profession of systems engineering. As a member of our Corporate Advisory Board for many years, MITRE has been a strong supporter of INCOSE and its technical activities.
