IDG's Computerworld Names MITRE a "Best Place to Work in IT" for Eighth Straight Year FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MITRE Contacts: Karina H. Wright Eryn L. Gallagher BEDFORD, Mass., and MCLEAN, Va., June 26, 2012 — IDG's Computerworld has selected The MITRE Corporation as one of the country's 100 "Best Places to Work in IT" for the eighth year in a row. The company ranked 65 overall and 22 in the category of medium-size companies on the 2012 list of the top work environments for information technology professionals. The magazine's annual list is determined based on a comprehensive questionnaire about company benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings. This year, more than 33,000 IT professionals employed by the final 100 companies selected participated in the survey. Other companies named to the 2012 list include Raytheon, Boeing, and USAA. "It's an honor to be recognized once again among such distinguished companies," said MITRE Vice President and Chief Information Officer Joel Jacobs. "We are extremely committed to bringing in and retaining top IT professionals, who make it possible for MITRE to deliver the technical excellence that our sponsors and customers value so highly." "The organizations on this year's Best Places to Work in IT list consistently seek out and hire the most talented IT people, offer them competitive pay and provide great benefits," said Scot Finnie, editor in chief of Computerworld. "Many of these organizations have spent years building top-notch IT workplaces, and we applaud the amazing work they've done to sustain dynamic environments where IT professionals can work with the latest technologies and play a key role in business-critical projects." Now in its 19th year, the Best Places list is featured in the June 2012 edition of Computerworld and online.
