Fogleman Appointed to MITRE Corporation Board of Trustees

Bedford, Massachusetts, November 1998 — MITRE Chairman of the Board James Schlesinger and President and Chief Executive Officer Victor DeMarines are pleased to announce the appointment of General Ronald R. Fogleman (USAF, Ret.) to the MITRE Board of Trustees.

General Fogleman is former Chief of Staff of the U. S. Air Force, member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and military advisor to the Secretary of Defense, the National Security Council, and the President. A highly decorated, distinguished military leader with 38 years of service, Fogleman retired on September 1, 1997. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (New York City), the Fort Lewis College Foundation, and a Fellow with the Inter University Seminar on Armed Forces and Society.

MITRE is an independent, not-for-profit systems engineering firm engaged in scientific and technical activities in the public interest. The corporation manages Federally Funded Research and Development Centers for the Department of Defense, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Internal Revenue Service, and has corporate offices in Bedford, Massachusetts and Northern Virginia.
