| MITRE Corporation Names New CFO FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MITRE Contacts: Karina H. Wright Eryn L. Gallagher Bedford, Massachusetts, October 20, 1999 — MITRE President and Chief Executive Officer Victor A. DeMarines has announced the appointment of Lewis Fincke as the corporation's vice president, chief financial officer (VP/CFO) and treasurer. Fincke will succeed Larry Myers who will retire at the end of October. Fincke will oversee all areas of MITRE's financial management, accounting, treasury, and process management functions. He will also serve as trustee of MITRE's retirement program and post-retirement health benefits trust. Fincke comes to MITRE from Concept Five Technologies in McLean, Virginia where he was senior VP/CFO and secretary-treasurer. Prior to that, he served in senior financial management at GTE/Contel Federal Systems, Unisys Defense Systems, Burroughs System Development and United Technologies Communications. Fincke has an extensive background in financial operations that includes directing the strategic planning activities of large-scale corporate enterprises. Fincke holds a bachelor of arts in business administration from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. He is a member of the Financial Executives Institute, and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, and was affiliated with the National Management Association, Planning Executives Institute, and Institute of Internal Auditors.
