The creation of an architectural framework for the infrastructure and mission applications of the Air Force's Integrated C2 System as part of the joint DII, leading to the establishment of the MITRE-staffed DII-AF Chief Architect's Office


The Defense Information Infrastructure Common Operating Environment (DII COE) technical working groups, several chaired by MITRE staff, which have helped move both the Industry and our Sponsors forward to a common software infrastructure


Support to DISA's effort to provide tools and other infrastructure to enable data sharing in the COE


Work for the Army at Ft. Monmouth on Task Force XXI and Division XXI, which has led to a new systems engineering role for PEO C3S—the Army C3I domain architect and technical integrator for the First Digital Force


Formation by the Corporation of a DII Council to coordinate MITRE's efforts in support of the Defense Department's objectives to develop the DII—"a seamless web of communications networks, computers, software, databases, applications, weapon system interfaces, data, security services, and other services that meets the information processing and transport needs of Defense Department users across the range of military operations."
