This area encompasses technologies to detect, monitor, and characterize the environment (terrain, weather, targets, etc.); determine feature position and navigate within the environment; and integrate, exploit, manage, and disseminate feature and positional data to support mission processes.

Overview

This area encompasses technologies to detect, monitor, and characterize the environment (terrain, weather, targets, etc.); determine feature position and navigate within the environment; and integrate, exploit, manage, and disseminate feature and positional data to support mission processes. The technology covers radar, optical, spectral, and acoustic sensors, as well as others, along with supporting analytical technologies such as geographic information systems.
