Speaker Series

Tim Berners-Lee presenting "The Web—Past, Present, and Future" at MITRE.

Another way the MIP encourages knowledge sharing is by sponsoring the MITRE Innovation Speaker Series.

Formerly known as the Technology Speaker series, the new name reflects the company's commitment to fostering an innovation-driven organization. The new series brings in distinguished speakers working in the innovation field in addition to speakers on technology topics. Speaking engagements are held for MITRE staff at our main facilities in Bedford or McLean and broadcast to numerous sites. Presentations are also available in real-time on streaming video, which is available on the company's intranet.

Recent speakers have included World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee, nanotechnology expert Brent Segal, National Science Foundation director Guru Parulkar, renowned economist and assistant professor at the Wharton School of Business Justin Wolfers, and video game entrepreneur Ben Sawyer.
