ABSTRACT
This briefing described the DARPA Communicator XML Log Standard. This
is a standard used within the Communicator program to log the input
to and output from spoken language dialogue systems, both for the purposes
of record keeping and, more importantly, evaluation. This was presented
to the W3C Voice Browsers Working Group in an effort to persuade them
of the need for and utility of a logging standard designed from the
start to support evaluation
