An Integration Framework for Airport Automation Systems

July 2001

Ningjiang "Jay" Cheng, The MITRE Corporation

ABSTRACT

A large airport typically has dozens of automation systems that require information interchange among them. However, those systems were often developed by different vendors and were not designed to be interoperable. When an airport embarks on systems integration to automate the information interchange, an integration framework is needed to avoid integration "spaghetti". This paper presents an integration framework for defining the integration information requirements and designing the system integration architecture.
