ABSTRACT
Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology is emerging for multi-mode,
multi-band, and multi-media communication services for commercial telecommunication
industries and government agencies [1]. This paper provides an overview
of the evolution and development initiatives of SDR technology and considerations
for adapting this technology to aeronautical mobile communications.
