ABSTRACT
This paper illustrates the benefits of inserting a semantic layer
into information systems that use N-Tier architectures. By introducing
the Ontology and Semantic services above the data tier, we succeed in
not only specifying semantics but also in integrating software components
into the enterprise. This design allows us to integrate legacy systems,
or RDBMS and Web services, without software development.
