ABSTRACT

This paper describes an ongoing technology investigation to assess the value and utility of social bookmarking on a corporate intranet. We hypothesize that social bookmarking would be useful in this environment for resource management, information sharing and discovery, expert finding, and social networking. We discuss features of the prototype system deployed, called onomi, and early analysis of findings on adoption, usage, and social influences. We conclude with our challenges and plans for future development and integration into the enterprise.
