| While working on issues of critical national importance, MITRE's researchers often come up with new technologies and applications that can be applied to more than one sponsor or commercial area, academia, or other outside organizations. MITRE's Technology Transfer Office (TTO) helps put these technologies into the hands of commercial companies that can make them available to our sponsors and the public as supported, affordable products.
MITRE's TTO was established in 1999 to support MITRE's technology transfer activities and to develop and administer intellectual property management, policies, and procedures. The TTO team is responsible for licensing MITRE's intellectual property—patents, technology, and expertise—and facilitating collaboration among researchers, academic institutions, and the federal laboratories interested in developing MITRE's innovations. Focused on stimulating innovation and facilitating collaboration in MITRE's research and development community, the TTO team works closely with MITRE's chief engineers, researchers, and the MITRE Research Program. MITRE's internal research and development program is focused on creating new technologies and applying existing tools and technologies in innovative ways to deliver value.
If you believe your business or product offerings could be enhanced by leveraging MITRE's technology, please contact MITRE's TTO. We look forward to learning more about your needs and discussing the products in our technology portfolio that can be leveraged to help you achieve your goals.
