Overview

MITRE has developed a biometric approach for electronic document signing, which is the functional equivalent of a traditional handwritten signature. Voice Signature (or "Voice Sig") allows a user to sign a document with a voice signature. The approach uses a combination of voice recognition and verification technology, public key encryption, and symmetric key encryption.

The solution includes a signing capability that can be used as a stand-alone application to sign any document or integrated with an existing application and a back-end verification capability. Voice Sig offers the same security and ease as a handwritten signature.

Benefits

  • A simple biometric signature
  • Easy to implement
  • Convenient
  • Applications

  • The technology may be used for any transactions requiring signature, e.g. real estate documents, e-government, etc.
