Dr. Laurie Giandomenico

Vice President and Chief Acceleration Officer

Laurie Giandomenico is vice president and chief acceleration officer at MITRE. In this role, she is responsible for incubating new business and working with portfolio and technical leaders to identify new opportunities to connect government and industry stakeholders and accelerate MITRE’s good growth strategy. She leads brand strategy to ensure new and existing business efforts continue to accrue equity to MITRE’s brand. 

Giandomenico joined MITRE in 1991 as a member of the technical staff. She then attended graduate school before joining McKinsey & Company in 2000 where she went on to specialize in strategy, brand and marketing consulting for Unilever, eBay, Schlumberger and Starbucks, among others, as well as a number of mid-level technology companies.

Since 2010, she has held executive-level positions in the enterprise software and energy firms, Pegasystems and EnerNOC (now Enel), respectively. She most recently managed her own strategy and marketing consulting firm, Rocket Strategy LLC, supporting MITRE on corporate strategy and brand development. 

Giandomenico has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Connecticut, and a master’s degree in anthropology and archeology from Cornell University, where she also earned a Ph.D. in nutrition, anthropology, and organizational development.
