Deputy FFRDC Director; Director, Enterprise Program Management Office; Managing Director, Healthcare Payment, Innovation, & Quality (Acting)
Lisa Tutterow serves as deputy director of the MITRE-operated CMS Alliance to Modernize Healthcare (Health FFRDC); director of the Enterprise Program Management Office; and managing director (acting) of Healthcare Payment, Innovation, & Quality Division. In this role, she manages operations of the Health FFRDC and collaborates across MITRE and the government to achieve sponsor impact. Throughout her 20-plus-year career, Tutterow has built trusted relationships across all levels of organizations to drive transformational change.
A leader at MITRE since 2009, Tutterow directed sponsor engagement and ensured high-quality work execution to meet sponsor goals. She previously led strategic and program management activities, overseeing cross-project collaboration and assuring MITRE work aligned to sponsor objectives. In this capacity, Tutterow led expansion of Health FFRDC impact with several new HHS divisions, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Health Resources Services Administration, and National Institutes of Health.
Prior to her tenure at MITRE, Tutterow spent more than a decade in various leadership positions with the Kaiser Permanente health system, where she directed the successful implementation of their electronic health information system in the Mid-Atlantic States region and was a member of the national strategic leadership team.
Tutterow has also served as a member of the Executive Board of a leading healthcare-organization partnership: Boston Children’s Hospital, Children’s National Medical Center, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and several electronic health record vendors.
She holds a master’s degree in environmental science and engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Virginia.
