Sean O’Neil

Technical Fellow

Sean O’Neil has made multiple contributions to the theory and practice of radar target tracking, as well as to monostatic and multi-static radar design and implementation. Throughout his career, he has applied his technical expertise to airborne surveillance radars, space-based ground surveillance systems, ground-based space surveillance systems, and multiple DARPA and classified programs.

His leadership roles include chief technologist for MITRE’s groundbreaking work in bi- and multi-statics, overseeing a set of interlocking programs applying multi-static radar technology to our nation’s most pressing problems.

In addition to his work as a fellow, he is managing MITRE’s Surface to Space Corporate Initiative, a multi-year effort to develop the next-generation national architecture for managing and deconflicting air and space traffic during launch, re-entry, and normal space operations.
