Overview

The Invitational facilitates the development, adoption, and effective use of cyber resiliency by examining issues that benefit from community consensus. The theme for this year’s event is Institutionalizing Cyber Resiliency with the goal of focusing on cyber resiliency in institutional environments.

An optional tutorial on the afternoon of May 17th (the day before the main invitational) is available for attendees who want to ‘get up to speed’ on cyber resiliency.

The morning and early afternoon of Wednesday May 18th features keynotes and briefings by government, industry, and academic leaders to provide a common frame of reference and stimulate discussion of new ideas. After the keynotes, the initial meetings for the three parallel tracks of facilitated working groups are scheduled. These are followed by Birds-of-a-Feather sessions to enable discussions on cyber resiliency topics of common interest. The technical portion of the first day ends with briefings on industry perspectives on cyber resiliency. The first day concludes with a social from 4:30 – 6:30 PM for all attendees. Commercial vendor booths are available throughout May 18th.

On Thursday, May 19th, the working groups reconvene and continue discussions. The Invitational ends with an out brief, summarizing the results of the three tracks.

The working group tracks will identify and document effective practices—as well as factors that undermine the effectiveness of resilience technologies, processes, and methods. The three focus areas are:

  • Track 1: Cyber Resiliency and an Organization’s Cyber Security Program;
  • Track 2: Cyber Resiliency and Architectural and Engineering Processes; and
  • Track 3: Cyber Resiliency in Acquisitions.

The working group tracks will identify and document effective practices—as well as factors that undermine the effectiveness of resilience technologies, processes, and methods.
