Overview

Continued development of cyber resiliency concepts, analytic approaches, and engineering guidance depends on consensus among practitioners and researchers based on their collective experiences. The purpose of the Invitational is to expand awareness, share experience, learn from each other, and reach agreement on the ideas and techniques that are proving effective in cyber resiliency.

An optional tutorial on the afternoon of May 8th (the day before the main invitational) is available for attendees who want to better understand both the basics of cyber resiliency as well as the current state of the practice.

The morning and early afternoon of Tuesday, May 9th will feature keynotes and briefings by government, industry, and academic leaders to provide a common frame of reference and stimulate discussion of new ideas. After the keynotes, the initial meetings for four parallel tracks of facilitated working groups are scheduled. The technical portion of the first day ends with briefings on the financial industry perspectives on cyber resiliency. The first day concludes with a social from 4:30 – 6:30 pm for all attendees. Commercial vendor booths are available throughout Tuesday, May 9th.

On Wednesday, May 10th, the working groups reconvene and continue discussions. The Invitational ends with an out-brief, summarizing the results of the four tracks.

The working group tracks will identify and document effective practices—as well as factors that undermine the effectiveness of resilience technologies, processes, and methods. The four focus areas are as follows:

  • Track 1: Measuring the Effectiveness of Cyber Resiliency Solutions;
  • Track 2: Architecting for Cyber Resiliency;
  • Track 3: Relationships Between Cyber Resiliency and Other Types of Resiliency; and
  • Track 4: Table Top Exercise: Defending a Cyber Resiliency-Enabled Enterprise
