In the rapidly changing U.S. healthcare landscape, patient privacy is crucial to health professionals and organizations. To help address this challenge, MITRE scientists and other expert practitioners from across the country have written Information Privacy in the Evolving Healthcare Environment. The book explores the meaning of privacy, the relationship between privacy and medical ethics, the synergy that exists between information privacy and security, and the complex legal landscape governing health information privacy.
The book, edited by MITRE's Linda Koontz and published by the non-profit Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), is available in both e-book and print formats. Read the introduction and learn more about how to obtain your copy.
