This digital event explored how various defense domain puzzle pieces, including the newest space piece, fit into the larger picture of the Joint All-Domain Command & Control (JADC2). Panelists, including MITRE's Vice President for Intelligence Programs and Cross-Cutting Capabilities, discussed the policies and practices that will play in the future of the Defense Department’s mission.
March 2, 2020—AFCEA “WEST 2020”
Eileen Boettcher, MITRE’s vice president for Joint and Services Programs, presented Navy Lt. John Miller with his second-place award in the US Naval Institute’s Emerging & Disruptive Technologies Essay Contest. MITRE sponsors this USNI/Proceedings Magazine essay contest to help spread knowledge of advanced technologies and their national security ramifications by addressing the question, “How should the Sea Services meld technology and innovation to maintain our nation’s advantages?” Read more about the essay contest and all the winning essays.

December 12, 2019—Nuclear Modernization Seminar
MITRE's Center for Technology & National Security, in conjunction with George Washington University, hosted a Nuclear Modernization Seminar that brought together a wide variety of experts working in and around our nation’s nuclear ecosystem. Participants included VADM Johnny Wolfe, director, Strategic Systems Programs, and retired Air Force Gen. Robert Kehler, former STRATCOM commander.

October 29, 2019—The Air Force of the Future
The Air Force of the Future -- What will the U.S. Air Force look like in 2030? What combination of aircraft will be needed to face the threats of the future? Three different organizations were tasked by Congress to figure out just that: the U.S. Air Force, the MITRE Corporation, and the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments. Dave Gerber, principal author of MITRE’s study of the U.S. Air Force’s 2030 needs, joined a panel of airpower experts to lend their thoughts on the future construct of the U.S. Air Force. As the space community stands at a pivotal juncture in the course of future human space exploration, IAC brought together the global space community to envision what the next “giant leap for mankind” will be. MITRE representatives, technical experts, and leaders participated in technical sessions and presentations that covered topics ranging from spectrum policy for space radiocommunication systems to cyber protection best practices for small satellites.

MITRE's National Security sector sponsored this showcase of technical discussion, accomplishments, and goals from the Technology and Innovation Roundtable. This year’s event addressed cutting-edge technology and applications for government missions: Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ontology for the Air Force A2-6; cloud and partner collaboration: Roundtable Analysis Exchange Pilot work for Army TRADOC G2; and the Roundtable's work and influences to improve accreditation and acquisition processes for software and technologies.
