Vice President, People Experience and Strategy

Christina Orfanos is vice president, people experience and strategy at MITRE. In this role, she directs and shapes the strategy, planning, development, implementation, and administration of human resources functions and talent programs across the organization. Translating HR’s strategic vision into action while driving business priorities from conception to completion, she is responsible for fostering, enabling, and executing MITRE’s talent experience vision in alignment with the organization’s mission and strategy. As a thought leader and influencer, she is driving transformation in compensation, benefits, HR operations, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, the HR project management office, and employee relations and analytics. 

After joining MITRE in 2018 as director of talent strategy and integration, she successfully led the design and transformation of a portfolio of human resources programs and projects, encompassing talent management, organizational culture, and the MITRE Total Rewards program. Her successful redesign of these programs resulted in enterprise wide changes that transformed outdated and legacy HR business processes and functions into modern and effective programs with tangible results and lasting impacts to the organization.

Orfanos is recognized for the more than 20 years of experience she holds across multiple leadership positions in human resources, communications, strategy development, and operations. She is known for her effectiveness in driving results and extensive breadth of knowledge of HR centers of excellence areas. Most recently she served as the director of human resources projects and communications for The Mentor Network/Civitas Solutions, a $1.4 billion NYSE-listed provider of home-based health and human services across 35 states, with 32,000 employees. Previously she managed sales and service and operations for World Travel Holdings, the world’s largest cruise agency and leisure travel company.

She is a graduate of Fisher College in Boston, Mass., with a degree in travel and hospitality management.
