A defense acquisition expert with over 25 years of experience, Matt focuses on enabling the rapid delivery and adoption of emerging technologies to the warfighter. 

He is co-author of Defense Tech and Acquisition Substack, a leading newsletter that analyzes major DoD initiatives, budgets, NDAAs, and technologies. 

Matt has over 25 years as a defense acquisition professional. He served as a military and civil service program manager across space, command and control, weather, and aircraft portfolios, including as Deputy PM of the F-35 program. The last five years in government were at the Pentagon, where he served in multiple acquisition leadership roles supporting multiple acquisition reform efforts including the policy development and implementation for the Middle Tier of Acquisition pathway. 

His most recent role was as Senior Director of Strategic Growth at Anduril Industries where he helped run multiple campaigns to drive new product lines to meet emerging government needs. He also served as a Fellow at the Acquisition Innovation Research Center where he helped develop curriculum for the new Defense Civilian Training Corps and supported various acquisition reform projects. 

Prior work includes time at the MITRE Corporation as an Acquisition SME where he served as a consultant to multiple government and congressional leaders and led rapid, software, and acquisition initiatives across the DoD. Key projects included rollout and progression of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework along with training workshops and targeted support
