The National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) recently presented its Innovative Logistics Service Award to MITRE, recognizing the organization’s pioneering work to strengthen the resilience of U.S. transportation networks that underpin national defense.
The award honors MITRE for advancing the resiliency of transportation infrastructure — especially U.S. ports— through rigorous methodologies for assessing critical infrastructure and operational technology (OT).
The award was presented by NDTA CEO VADM (ret.) William A. Brown — former USTRANSCOM Deputy Commander — and Craig Hymes, NDTA Senior Vice President for Operations.
Over the past two years, MITRE has partnered with seaport and rail vendors to deliver actionable OT security improvements and worked to identify where adversaries are most likely to target a strategic U.S. seaport and its multimodal feeders, sharing insights with ports and federal partners.
