Project Meridian
Thank you for your interest in Project Meridian
On September 30, Secretary Pete Hegseth directed the Department of War Chief Technology Officer, Emil Michael, to initiate Project Meridian: The Future of Warfare. MITRE was selected to lead this independent initiative that will assess the technologies and operational concepts needed to sustain U.S. military advantage across all future warfighting domains and secure dominance in priority areas from 10–30 years out, and beyond.

We will review all relevant input and conduct our analysis with the technical rigor and objectivity expected of MITRE while applying appropriate conflict-of-interest and information safeguards consistent with all of MITRE’s work. Maintaining our independent judgment is fundamental to our role as an FFRDC and to the credibility of Project Meridian.
