Project Meridian
The Department of War has commissioned MITRE to lead Project Meridian, an independent initiative on the future of warfare. The effort examines the technologies and operational concepts required to sustain U.S. military advantage across the full spectrum of future warfighting domains.
MITRE brings decades of experience working at the intersection of national security, technology, and the public interest. Its mission-immersed technical experts will apply deep understanding of warfighter needs, systems-level perspective, and rigorous, objective analysis to assess emerging technologies and their implications for future military operations.
Project Meridian will draw on outside expertise from the nation’s top business leaders, policy experts, and technologists, who will meet regularly to inform the development of strategic recommendations for the Department. Their insights will help shape priorities and capability development across warfighting domains and emerging technologies, while identifying novel operational concepts for the battlefields of the next generation.
The membership reflected here represents the initiative’s current composition and will continue to evolve as the initiative develops.
