MITRE Named a Washington Post Top Workplace for Second Year in a Row
McLean, Va., June 20, 2016—The Washington Post has named The MITRE Corporation to its Top Workplaces list for 2016. MITRE was ranked 8 out of 20 companies in the category of largest organizations with 500 employees or more in the Washington, D.C., area.
The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. MITRE employees scored the organization highest on offering the flexibility to balance work and personal life and its benefits package.

MITRE employees who work at the organization’s McLean headquarters or in the Washington, D.C., area, provide systems engineering, research and development and IT support to a range of government sponsors and customers. MITRE’s McLean campus is also home to state-of-the-art labs including one focused on aviation safety and another on nanotechnology.
The Washington Post’s 2016 Top Workplaces survey was conducted by employee survey firm WorkplaceDynamics. The survey measured individuals’ responses to statements regarding key factors related to employee happiness including company direction, execution, employee connection, work load and responsibility, management, and pay and benefits.
