MITRE Names Gary Gagnon Vice President of Cyber Strategy and Chief Security Officer
McLean, Va., and Bedford, Mass., August 27, 2018—The MITRE Corporation has named Gary Gagnon to the dual roles of Vice President of Cyber Strategy and Chief Security Officer.
As Vice President of Cyber Strategy, Gagnon will be accountable for developing and leading cyber strategy and guiding its execution across MITRE’s work program. As Chief Security Officer, Gagnon is responsible for MITRE's cybersecurity and physical security.

Gagnon rejoins MITRE after most recently serving as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Amazon. Before that he was at Inmarsat as Senior Vice President of Global Security and Chief Information Security Officer. Gagnon worked at MITRE for 30 years in many leadership roles including Chief Security Officer, Vice President of the National Cybersecurity Federally Funded Research and Development Center, and Senior Vice President of Intelligence Programs.
