MITRE Welcomes Arrival of D.C. Metro's Silver Line
MCLEAN, Va., July 28, 2014—The MITRE Corporation welcomes Washington, D.C.-area Metro Silver Line commuters today—the first weekday during which the line is operating since its official opening on Saturday. MITRE's McLean campus on Colshire Drive off of Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123) is located up the hill from the McLean Station. One of five stations opened as part of the first phase of the Silver Line construction, the McLean stop has entrances on the north and south side of Route 123, with a pedestrian bridge across Route 123.
"Our campus is now easier to travel to," said Christopher Jackson, who leads recruiting for MITRE. "The Silver Line offers a great commuting option for current employees, potential job candidates, sponsors and visitors to MITRE. It's a win-win."
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority expects the second phase of the Silver Line to be completed in 2018. The line will include a Metro stop at Dulles International Airport. This extension of the rail transit system is a key element in the planned transformation of the Tysons area. Learn more at Tysons Partnership.
