The federal government has relied upon accurate identity management for a long time but over the last thirty years it has become a fundamental aspect of numerous federal programs, with foci ranging from terrorist identification to enhancing customer experience in citizens’ interactions with federal agencies.

This paper continues the community’s prior work in identifying and overcoming priority issues or capability gaps by highlighting three areas of primary concern raised during FedID 2021: identity proofing/fraud prevention; DoD, intelligence, homeland security, law enforcement; and face recognition.
