Data to Decisions
We're exploring new ways to quickly collect, exploit, translate, fuse, compare, model, and share information from multiple large and complex data sources—so that users have the information they need when and how they need it.
Our researchers are working in several fields, including:
- National security. We're developing better ways to analyze and visualize "big data"—whether it's thousands of hours of video from unmanned aerial vehicles or millions of messages from social and traditional media.
- Fraud, compliance, and financial system integrity. We're studying how to improve the integrity of government-citizen transactions to prevent financial fraud and tax evasion, as well as healthcare fraud, money laundering, and financing of criminal activities.
- Healthcare. We're identifying the most efficient methods of collecting and analyzing health-related trends, from disease outbreaks to public sentiment on programs designed to detect and prevent disease propagation and improve public health.
