Jonathan Moneymaker

Jonathan Moneymaker, a national security and space technology expert, is a MITRE trustee. Throughout his career, he has built and executed diverse portfolios from startups to Fortune 50 companies, creating value and delivering innovation across commercial and federal markets in support of U.S. intelligence and special operations.  

Most recently, Moneymaker was CEO of BlueHalo, the disruptive defense tech and national security solutions provider he built from concept to ~$1 billion in revenue, enabling its acquisition by AeroVironment in 2025.

Moneymaker’s 25+ year career in defense and national security began in service to the U.S. government and has since spanned leadership roles across transformative organizations.

He serves on several boards, including as a senior adviser to Blackstone; chairman of the U.S. board of Kongsberg, a Norway-based defense systems and solutions provider; and chairman of the board of LeoLabs, a leading provider of space domain awareness and missile defense. In addition, he is a board member for Kraken Technology Group, a U.K.-based maritime technology company, and Attalon, the provider of precision optics, laser systems, and exquisite coatings. Moneymaker also serves on the advisory boards of the University of Southern California’s Viterbi School of Engineering and U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.
