Craig Ackerman

Vice President, Integration & Operations, Center for Operations, Outreach & Legal

Craig Ackerman is vice president, integration, and operations for MITRE’s Center for Operations, Outreach, and Legal. In this role, he develops and oversees the implementation of operational policies and practices to meet the Center’s current and future mission needs. Ackerman leads the integration of efforts across the division and in coordination with the entire MITRE Corporation focused on workforce engagement, program execution, financial management, and quality assurance. He also oversees corporate real estate, facilities operations, and global security services.

Ackerman is a U.S. Army veteran with more than 25 years of experience leading operations, business transformation, and shared services teams. He brings expertise in rapidly assessing organizational capabilities, team effectiveness, and key processes to execute innovative solutions, expand operating capabilities, and achieve strategic outcomes.

Ackerman joined MITRE from Chazey Partners, a global transformation advisory firm, where he served as a principal in the federal practice, working with federal and local government clients to develop more efficient service delivery operations. He also served as the firm’s global head of robotic process automation and supported business and digital transformations for clients including the University of California, NASA, and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, a federally funded research and development center.

His previous roles include senior leadership positions at Day & Zimmerman, Parsons Brinckerhoff, and SAIC. Early in his career, Ackerman was a captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Ackerman, an expert in digital transformation, speaks frequently at industry conferences about establishing and scaling robotic process automation programs. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and his MBA from Boston University.
