Blue Venture Forum Honors Nick Rotker with Rising Tide Award

During its Blue Innovation Symposium, the Blue Venture Forum honored Nick Rotker, chief BlueTech strategist and senior manager, underwater and acoustic systems, MITRE, with its Rising Tide Award for his research and leadership in the Blue Economy. 

Rhode Island Governor Daniel McKee also presented a certificate of special recognition to Rotker at the symposium for his support of new and emerging blue technology companies.

Rotker leads MITRE’s BlueTech work program featuring a lab with a 620,000-gallon tank, which opened in November 2023 to facilitate rapid undersea testing, innovation, and collaboration across government, academia, and industry. As part of MITRE’s BlueTech Lab, Rotker leads MITRE’s BlueNERVE, a secure network to provide government, academic, industry, and not-for-profit users access to real-time insights and collaboration in the Blue Economy. 

An electrical engineer, Rotker applies his expertise to innovate in underwater acoustics, radar systems, signal processing algorithm development, and distributed sensing systems. Rotker also provides connection and mentorship to early-state entrepreneurs looking to accelerate the nation’s Blue Economy.
